the growing ethnic voice of the Greater Toronto Area. Operating at 101.3 MHz on
the FM band, at an effective radiated power of 1,000 watts, CMR serves as a forum
for debate, discussion and exchange of community, local, national and international
news, events and culture. From its leading edge facility, CMR services more than
18 different language groups. Based in Toronto, TVI is Canada’s leading 24-hour
Tamil Television channel. TVI offers a wide variety of continuous Tamil programming:
ranging from local and world news and events to the latest movies and television
series. TVI continually raises its bar on quality and the services it offers. TVI
is now an intergral part of the Tamil Community in Canada! |
About South Asian Festival
Canadian Multicultural Radio (‘CMR’) and
Tamil Vision Inc. (‘TVI’) together present
the largest South Asian event in Canada, the
‘South Asian Festival’ each spring.
Toronto’s International Centre, one of
Canada’s premier trade and convention
venues, hosts this much anticipated
celebration of cultural diversity. With a total
audience exceeding one million people, CMR,
TVI and their partners are yet again geared
well to showcase the culture, food, music and
businesses of Canada’s vibrant South Asian
communities on the 16th and 17th of May 2009.
Five hugely successful festivals todate
have generated elavated expectations and
enourmous crowds to this grand celebration.
The event always builds upon the past events
and presents unique, innovative and higher
standard entertainment and services.
With over an average of 1500
performers at each festival,
this grand celebration of
diversity, brings the many
forms of music, dance,
games, rides, business
and creative arts under
one roof. 100,000 plus
attendees of many walks of life,
300 plus exhibitors of various interests, 3 plus
entertainment stages, 80 plus shows, 1500
plus artists and 400,000 plus square feet of
space makes this event by far the most vibrant,
colourful and happening one during the South
Asian Heritage month of May.
